O Sovereign Lord

Words: Jesse Rey Quesada. Music: Bryan Jeffrey Lee & Jesse Rey Quesada.

O Sovereign Lord, You stand above all gods;

In Your presence all shall falter.

The idol’s throne, Your mighty foot has trod,

And destroyed the graven altar.

What fashioned work of wood and gold

Could share the glory of our King?

Your hand alone, the heav’ns and earth unrolled,

By the work of your great power.

By the work of your great power.

O Sovereign Lord, You sit upon the throne,

And accomplish Your good bidding.

From ancient times, plans which are yet unknown,

You declared from the beginning.

What mortal man can stay Your hand,

Or cry aloud, “What have You done?”

Your work prevails according to Your plan,

Til the close of your great story.

Til the close of your great story.

O Sovereign Lord, You rule with wondrous grace,

Setting love upon Your chosen;

Those set apart, elected to be saints

From before the world's foundation.

Not looking to our feeble faith,

But by the kindness of Your will,

You called us forth, from death to life we're raised,

In display of Your great mercy!

In display of Your great mercy!

O Sovereign Lord, You went before Your saints,

To redeem a holy nation.

Your only Son, delivered to be slain

To secure our full salvation!

Not trial, nor sword, nor anything

Can separate us from Your love.

The finished work, performed by Christ our King,

To the praise of Your great glory!
