Soli Deo Gloria
Words: Jesse Rey Quesada.
We were conceived and born in sin,
Sons of Adam, our federal head.
No righteous deeds, depraved within,
Children of wrath, spiritually dead.
Not one could boast the ablest will
To seek by faith the Father’s face,
But blind we walked in darkness ‘til
He exercised His sovereign grace.
Soli Deo Gloria
All the Glory to God alone

Eternal was the covenant
Between the Father and the Son,
To choose by grace a blest remnant
And sanctify them in Christ’s blood.
No goodness did the Godhead see;
Not faith, nor posture of the heart.
But by His loving mercy He
Elected sons to set apart.

In flesh the Son His glory veiled –
Humility beyond compare.
In life He was by grief assailed;
In love His death the veil did tear.
Not for a nameless, faceless mass,
But for His cherished bride foreknown,
He gave His life a sacrifice,
And for her sins, His blood atoned.

When for His sheep, the Shepherd died,
Our pardon would not be enough.
But everything His hand provides:
For grace to will, for life to love.
As Jesus called to Lazarus,
“Come forth!” and from the dead he rose,
Effectually He called to us,
And we could not His will oppose.

Now shall God’s saints in pow’r prevail
Against the world, Satan, and sin.
The Spirit’s work can never fail –
Preserving those Christ died to win.
Redemption’s golden chain proclaims,
“Predestined, called, and justified!”
How sure then for whom Christ was slain,
Shall He give glorious, eternal life!
